Hi, I’m Damian

I have been a professional photographer since 2003 and have shot 800 weddings in that time. I am proud to have been listed as one of London's Top Wedding Photographers and am a previous winner of Wedding Photographer of the Year.

I mainly photograph weddings and families but will point my camera at pretty much anything anyone asks me to (within reason!).

I am married to Anna and have two wonderful kids; Jago (20) and Ruby (18). Harley, the working cocker spaniel (named after the mighty Harlequins), completes our little team. We live in Farnham, Surrey but I travel all over the country shooting weddings and (generally) within a 60 mile radius of Farnham for my kids and family photography (though do go further afield).

I love walking with Harley (and anyone else who wants to come!), hanging out with Anna, the kids and our friends & family and am pretty much addicted to CrossFit. There, I said it! Keeping fit really helps when I am on my feet all day at a wedding, or mucking about on a family shoot.

Why do I like photographing weddings, families and people in general?

I like the notion that I am creating a little slice of social history. I record people, their friends, their family and their special occasions; memories that might otherwise be fuzzy or even lost.

My aim is to try to make the best photograph that exists of the person or people in question. To make photos that will sit on the mantelpiece or in the album, be passed down through the generations and say, "That was me, that was us, look what we did together".

It's an incredibly satisfying job and I really love doing it.

In 2007 I was awarded Wedding Photographer of the Year. The awards disappeared a few years later but so great was my experience that in 2011, Anna and I set up The Wedding Industry Awards which recognises and rewards excellence in the UK wedding industry. TWIA is the awards in the wedding industry, it’s logo a trusted kite mark all over the country.

My latest venture, born out of Lockdown, is Back Story; recording for posterity the story and soundtrack of people’s lives. It’s like Desert Island Discs for everyday people. People like you, your family and your friends. It’s the perfect gift for any special occasion; original, unusual and truly timeless. Their story, their soundtrack, their legacy recorded to enjoy and share with family and friends now and preserved for future generations. Check it out here: www.back-story.co.uk

My son, Jago, and I set up a cheeky little side hustle during Lockdown 2020. it’s a great wooden drinking game called Hooked. Race your opponent to swing your ring onto the hook. Spice things up with our Shot Run. Each time you hook your ring you push the shot glass towards your opponent. Move the glass off the end of the Shot Run and your opponent drinks. It could get messy!

In 2013 three friends and I did the Marathon des Sables. It was an incredible experience and I’m still going out to lunch on it today!

One of the great pleasures in life; a pint (preferably in a pub with a bag of salted crisps). Simple but effective.
